BSc (Hons) International Engineering Business Management



OVERVIEW


This course is designed for International and non-UK students from the European Union.

This course builds upon your existing management skills and introduces you to the key aspects of managing a company in the engineering industry. You will develop an integrated understanding of strategic and operations management and develop the appropriate management and general skills required in this demanding management environment.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?


This deliberate cluster of modules enables you to study a range of the most essential issues within the modern activities of engineering business and management as well as the particular application of engineering in the humanitarian environment.

advanced English for business and management;
individual project.

HOW WILL THIS COURSE BE TAUGHT?


Your course will be based on a series of lectures, with associated seminars and workshop practical classes.

In addition, your personal tutor will review and discuss your progress with you and will be available for advice.


HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?


Your work will be assessed via coursework and examinations. The relative importance of these two components will vary between modules. There will be an appropriate split between coursework and examinations with some modules assessed by coursework only.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS


Successful completion of 2 years' appropriate academic study in Higher Education.

English as a Foreign Language: IELTS 6.5.

HOW WILL THIS COURSE ENHANCE MY CAREER PROSPECTS?


On successful completion of this programme, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the operation of engineering based organisations at a strategic level as well as established methods for the management of operations in this environment. This will provide you with a base of knowledge that you can use in further study or in employment.

Please note that Stage 1 normally equates to the first year of an undergraduate degree, Stage 2 to the second year of an undergraduate degree, and Stage 3 to the third year of an undergraduate degree. Progression from one stage to another is subject to the decision of the relevant Assessment Board, and stages make take more than one year if modules have to be repeated. In addition, students undertaking a placement or year abroad will have this recorded as an additional stage 2 or 3, depending on the course.
